The Wolfriders Today

CUTTER
Eleventh chief of the Wolfriders, he's still (grumble) going strong. Now reunited with Leetah after the Disappearance and the Shards War, Cutter's happy to be back leading the Wolfriders Elders and a few new recruits at the site of the old Father Tree Holt. After a particularly ugly rift between him and Suntop (now Sunstream), of which Cutter was almost completely unawares (ass) Cutter and his son have finally begun to understand each other. Cutter had a slightly easier time raising Shuna, and predicts she'll have a long and full life with both elves and humans.

LEETAH
Cutter's lifemate and the Wolfriders' healer, Leetah was a member of the Howling Rock Wolfriders (later the Wild Hunt) during the Shards War. However she is now reunited with her lifemate and her son Sunstream. She refused to fully heal Sunstream (then still Suntop) when he was wounded by a shagback, believing the pain would help him find himself. Somewhat kinder to Shuna, Leetah encouraged her to find her "gift", but feared for her safety when Shuna went into the human world in search of it.

NIGHTFALL
Considered by many to be the "alpha female" of the Wolfriders, Nightfall and her lifemate Redlance treed with Cutter for five hundred years during the Disappearance of the Palace. Now back at their birthplace, ten thousands years later, Nightfall and Redlance are hopefully undergoing their own "second honeymoon." Nightfall is one of Shuna's good friends, and she helped Shuna get settled in Father Tree Holt.

REDLANCE
The tree-shaper of the Wolfriders, Redlance struggled to shape a new Father Tree, but was unable to work the full extent of his magic due to the magical pool remaining from Madcoil's day. But once Sunstream, with the help of all the elfin spirits, purged the magic, was Redlance able to shape a Father Tree greater than any before. Redlance is now hard at work keeping Father Tree fresh, when he's not joining in on the hunt.

MOONSHADE
One of the oldest of the Wolfriders at 1000+, Moonshade is still the peaceful tanner of the Wolfriders, though she is much thornier than she was during the Original Quest, evidenced by her rebelliousness under Ember's rule. In the relatively carefree first year back at Father Tree, she and Strongbow enjoyed quite the "second honeymoon," which culminated with a communion with their daughter Crescent's spirit and a third Recognition with Strongbow. Moonshade is now an exhausted and exasperated mother of a bouncing baby girl.

STRONGBOW
The taciturn archer is very much the second-chief of the Wolfriders, despite the fact that Treestump is more often than not the substitute chief in Cutter's absense. Strongbow was more wounded than he would have admitted by the deaths of Skot and Zhantee during the Shards War, but is back in fighting spirit after the re-creation of Father Tree Holt. The birth of his new daughter has made him even more cautious and xenophobic than ever. He and Treestump were at odds about the meaning of Way and the worth of Treestump's dangerous quest to forge metals.

DART
Since the dissolution of the Jackwolf Riders in the wake of the fall of Sorrow's End, Dart no longer has a need to protect the Sun Folk, and, having found the "Now of Wolf-Thought" in the Forevergreen, decided to join his parents and his birthtribe. Dart is now one of the forerunners of the Hunt, and helped lead the attack on the shagbacks in "Full Circle." He took on a starring role in The Searcher and the Sword, helping Shuna on her quest to unite humans and elves. (See more under his bio in "Seekers")

TREESTUMP
The oldest living Wolfrider at 1100+, Treestump has forgotten many details of his long life. Lifemated to Clearbrook for 500+ years, Treestump is now also the first metalworking Wolfrider. After Treestump's beloved axe broke in The Searcher and the Sword and he found himself with no trolls to repair it, Treestump went on a two-year Quest to forge metal in the troll caverns below Father Tree. After months of work and a run-in with some "misfit trolls" living in the tunnels, Treestump finally forged his new sword, Mornhowl.

CLEARBROOK
At over one thousand years old, she is the oldest living female Wolfrider, only a few decades younger than her second lifemate, Treestump. Clearbrook followed Treestump into the troll caverns and helped him in his quest to forge brightmetal. When the hidden danger in the tunnels revealed itself to be a pack of degenerated trolls, Clearbrook fought at Treestump's side. She and Treestump found and freed Ahdri, who had been the trolls' slave. Clearbrook is now Treestump's partner in the smithy, and together they forge new weapons for all the Wolfriders.

NEWSTAR
Savah's handmaiden, lifemate to an unnamed Sun Villager who died in the war with the Go-Backs, Newstar has now decided to go back to her birthtribe and introduce her son Kimo to the Wolfrider way of life. She splits her time now between the Sun Villagers who live in the Palace and her birthtribe in Father Tree Holt. It seems she and Skywise have renewed their former liaison, as they had been spotted together several times.

KIMO
Dart's lifemate and his adoring second-chief, Kimo left the remnants of the Jackwolf Riders to join Dart with the original Wolfriders following the Forevergreen fire and the conclusion of the Shards War. He's now a deadly Wolfrider hunter, and the only shapeshifter in the tribe besides Timmain. He and Shuna are bonded in somethign akin to Recognition, and he hunts for her and protects her as her wolf-friend. He and Dart accompanied Shuna on her quest in the Searcher and the Sword storyline. (See more in his bio in the "Seekers")

SHENSHEN
After spending 500 years in the Thorny Mountain, followed by a two-year expedition to the Forevergreen with her nephew Suntop, Shenshen has returned to the Wolfriders as a herbalist and midwife, alongside her healer sister Leetah. She stays close to Newstar and the other Sun Villagers. She also seems to be taking up with Skywise, much to the vexation of puritanical Shuna.

SHUNA
The human girl joined the Wolfriders before she turned twenty, and has been adopted as Cutter and Leetah's "daughter." She had a very hard time becoming part of the Wolfriders, as she could not survive the cold winters without aid, and frequent flashbacks to her abusive childhood made her lash out at the others. She set out to unite humans and elves, with Dart and Kimo at her side. After one failed marriage, she resumed her quest with her elfin friends and her second husband. (See more in her bio in the "Seekers").

CHITTER
Once an adorable nameless infant, now a psychotic gorilla-baby on crack, Strongbow and Moonshade's baby girl was conceived shortly after a communion with Crescent's spirit, suggesting Crescent somehow "helped" spark Recognition. Hyperactive and remarkably talkative given her lack of complete sentences, Chitter is the apple of Dart's eye and the bane of her parents' existence.

AHDRI
She's back! Just when we thought we had lost her, Ahdri proved you can't keep a good rockshaper down. Mortally wounded and sealed in wrapstuff at Sorrow's End, Ahdri was captured by the "misfit trolls" who used her powers to uncover gemstomes and precious metals. Ahdri's cocoon was found and rescued by Treestump and Clearbrook, and she was taken back to the Palace for a healing. Ahdri is now living in the troll caverns with Treestump and Clearbrook, where she uses her powers to keep the misfit trolls at bay.
